Bishop Rosette Coney

Rosette Coney was born the middle child to the late Louise and Richard Henderson, in the City of Philadelphia, PA.  She is inseparable with her sisters Faye and Sharon.  As one third of The Henderson Sisters Singing Group, she has been singing with her sisters all over the country since a small child, and their travels include Nassau, Bahamas and Mexico City.  Coming from a loving family of God-fearing people, she was inspired by her grandfather, the late Rev. H. C. Williams, former Pastor of the renowned Friendly Baptist Church of Philadelphia.  In June of 1971 she married Deacon Gene Coney.  They are the proud parents of two daughters and sons in-law (who are faithful deaconesses and deacons in the church), two little grand daughters, Makayla Rose, Tamia Camille, as well as a handsome young grandson, Aaron. They also are parents to many spiritual sons and daughters.  Bishop Coney and her husband reside in Glenside, PA.

As a small child, she would sit at her grandfather’s feet and sketch drawings of the sermons he prepared to deliver to his congregation. She still uses her creativity to design her own greeting cards and other miscellaneous craft items, under the name of Rosette’s Creations.

Her spiritual work in the Church of the Living God has allowed her to work in leadership positions since a child, and she has held every possible office in the church from President of the Usher Board to her present position of Bishop and Pastor. Bishop Coney developed and teaches the Ministerial Development Program for new ministers to help solidify their calling.  She currently shepherds a group of enthusiastic people in the Strawberry Mansion section of the city of Philadelphia, her membership has grown regularly.

Bishop Coney worked in the corporate world for 30 years, and has to her credit the gift of stability.  In June of 1999 she graduated as valedictorian of the Trinity School of Enlightenment, and willingly followed the direction of the Holy Spirit to leave the corporate world to do full-time ministry work.

Bishop Coney represents the Church of the Living God as an active member of the Bethel Deliverance International Fellowship of Churches in Philadelphia, PA, which allows her ministry experience to expand even further under the great tutelage of Bishop Eric A. Lambert.  She is mentored by Dr. Faye Moore, General Overseer/Senior Bishop of the Church of the Living God, and Bishop Millicent Hunter, Senior Pastor of the Cathedral Baptist Worship Center.

Today, Pastor Coney continues to lead the people of God in love, preaching and teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ as she reaches out to the community. She is a passionate wife, mother, grandmother, leader, teacher, friend, counselor, advisor, motivational speaker, singer, mentor, sister, author, artist, and loves most of all being a servant of the Most High God.  Bishop Coney has a passion for serving God and all that goes along with the territory.  She has adopted as her personal statement Apostle Paul’s writing in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
